Building on the worldwide success of Galaxy II, the addition of a light weight surgical illumination system is a true game changer for visual access in surgery.
The LUX light attachment is easily adjusted to the right intensity and angle. Bendable and flexible, it will hold its shape...until you are done.
With lack of enough light being the key challenge in many surgical procedures, the Galaxy II self retaining surgical ring retractor with LUX light is a real game changer.
JUNE Medical is delighted to announce the launch of the Galaxy II™ LUX – the worlds’ first self-retaining ring retractor with light. This unique partnership provides surgeons with a revolutionary solution, giving them better access and a clearer view of the surgical site, and eliminating the disadvantages of using overhead lighting or personal headtorches.
The lightweight, self-retaining retractor features unique cam locks that allow single-handed adjustment on the frame, and there are multiple frames and hooks to suit a range of procedures. The Galaxy LUX is ideal for use in a variety of procedures, including ENT, colorectal, orthopaedic, gynaecological and other open surgeries.
Angela Spang, CEO of JUNE Medical commented: “We are thrilled to offer this gamechanger. This kit helps to overcome a number of pain points, ensuring uniform site illumination from within an open surgical cavity, reducing the need for light repositioning and eliminating the risk of patient infection from contaminated light handles, as well as improving ergonomics for surgeons. We’re also excited about the opportunities this kit will bring for our charity work in countries where surgical lighting is sometimes a smartphone torch!”
