This year’s International Women’s Day was a powerful reminder of why these conversations matter – not just for one day, but for the culture we build every day in our workplaces and communities.
A particular highlight was the speech delivered by our CEO, Angela Spang. Her message was both courageous and compassionate, setting the tone for the day with a clarity and authenticity that resonated across the room. Angela’s ability to speak openly about purpose, leadership, and self-belief made her contribution especially memorable.
One of the most uplifting themes was the idea that starting later doesn’t mean achieving less. Everyone’s path looks different, and progress isn’t defined by timelines. What matters is the courage to begin – whenever that moment arrives.
A standout message was that true leadership isn’t about standing alone at the front – it’s about the support, collaboration, and trust that surround you. No one leads in isolation, and the strongest leaders are those who lift others as they rise.
All the speakers encouraged us to embrace experimentation. Not every step will be perfect, and that’s okay. Sometimes the real value lies not in the outcome, but in the people, you meet along the way. Connections, mentors, and shared experiences often become the most meaningful part of the journey.
The room was challenged to think about the legacy we leave behind. Make your workplace better for those who come after you. Whether through championing diversity, amplifying underrepresented voices, or challenging outdated norms, each of us has a role in shaping a more inclusive future.
As we move forward, the message is clear: start where you are, trust your voice, and keep pushing for workplaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered to thrive.
