Oxiplex/IU Adhesion Barrier Gel is a unique formulation of proprietary biomaterial. Oxiplex/IU is supplied sterile and ready to use in one 10 mL syringe with a sterile applicator.
A new adhesion barrier gel for intrauterine surgery
Last year Fziomed announced a new anti-adhesion product, oxiplex/IU adhesion barrier gel for intrauterine surgery. It is an absorbable, synthetic viscoelastic gel that is applied following intrauterine surgery to preserve uterine integrity and improve surgical outcomes by reducing post-surgical adhesions.
“We have been a provider of adhesion barriers for gynecological surgery for many years and our customers have requested that the same protection from post-surgical adhesions be made available for use in the uterus,” said John Krelle, President and CEO of FzioMed. “The new delivery system we have developed in conjunction with opinion leaders in the field, enables safe and easy application of gel and preservation of surgical excellence following numerous intrauterine procedures such as; Adhesiolysis, Dilation and Curettage, Myomectomy, Polypectomy, Removal of Retained Products of Conception and Uterine Septum Surgery.”
“I have worked with adhesion prevention since my days at JNJ when we launched Interceed and Intergel. I have been researching the best possible solution for several years now, and finally we can supply Oxiplex to the UK market. This is huge benefit to women going through surgery, as it gives them the best possible chance to heal without future complications due to adhesions.”.
